Art
Winston Rylee primarily creates his art using Pyrography on wooden salvage panels with accents of colored gouache. He also creates homemade natural stains and finishes to complete his works; these stains are created by using rusty nails, coffee grounds, a mix of burnt wood and water, pipe tobacco ash, and other natural ingredients. WR is an advocate for Environmental Reform; you can see this in his artistic mash-ups of mythology, folklore, and maritime stories with the environmental crises we are dealing with today.
Design
W.R. celebrates the balance of functionality and design. He believes that an accent piece should do more than, “strike a conversation.”
Build
W.R. develops unique custom furniture and display units. The idea; mash-up vintage hardware with re-milled old growth wood to create clean and minimal lines with accents from the past.
